This being at home stuff is stressful. So many people to see, so many “American” things to do.
I’ve resorted to my bad high school habits: crappy TV and a lot of junk food. Teen Mom is on? Cracking open a can of chunky soup now. Real Housewives? I think I’ll eat a pizza in honor of all those guidettes in Jersey.
So, I’ve decided to just indulge. After all, in just two short weeks I’ll be on a plane back to the land of olive oil and pork. No Chicago style all-beef franks or margaritas in Spain!
What’s your comfort food, the one you request first thing when you get back home? Mine’s easy: an all-beef hotdog from Portillo’s (hold the mustard) with crinkle cut fries and a milkshake. Even the novio likes them!
Indulging is of the best things about coming home! I justified it by the fact I’d be leaving again soon. One thing I’m glad Puerto Rico has imported from the US is the “free refills” and “free water” concept… too bad “free tapas” hasn’t caught on though!
Mine was good Thai food. There is no Asian food in Galicia; I attempted Chinese once, it made me violently ill, asi q nunca me atreví a comerlo de nuevo jaja
I like the new blog!
Don’t worry, I tried Chinese for you in La Coruna. EW.
1.) I had okay Chinese in Madrid. Just sayin’.
2.) I forgot the culture shock of coming home and getting free refills. God that was a glorious first day.
We have a good Asian place in Bilbao. Actually amazing. I told my soon-to-be-freshman in college brother than when I come home for Christmas, he has to come with me on my food indulgence. Chipotle, Buffalo Wild Wings, Acoustic Café…he readily agreed. I am so stoked. Plus, the fact that it’ll be Christmas will add to the wonderfulness.
I’ve been wanting to change to wordpress forever and you totally motivated me!!! It’s so much better! Have fun eating fun stuff in Chicago. I’ll see you soon enough in Spain!!! Miss you xoxoxox!!!!
chicken nuggets from Chick-fil-A (to name one!)
Beth, would you believe I have never been to a Chic-fil-a? They just put one in in my hometown and I was actually tempted last night!
Hold the mustard? Aw hellllll no!
I can’t wait for my next trip home! I have SO MANY American things to do!
